A Tribute To Late Steve Jobs – An iConic Figure

As the news goes, the iGod-Steve Jobs is no longer with us. He passed away on 5th October 2011. A person with a vision and the real hero behind Apple took his last breath and left the world in shock and despair. He was the man with a purpose and ambition.

It didn’t take long for the people who love their iPhones, iPods, iPads and Macs to begin gathering to pay their respects to the man who made it all happen. Scott Robbins, a barber and Apple fan for nearly 20 years, came to Apple’s San Francisco store as soon as he heard about Jobs’ death on Wednesday.

“To some people, this is like Elvis Presley or John Lennon —it’s a change in our times,” Robbins, 34, said. “It’s the end of an era, of what we’ve known Apple to be. It’s like the end of the innovators.” The world also lost a showman, whose flair for the dramatic — there was always “one more thing” —he was as keen as his knack for divining what people wanted before they even seemed to realize it themselves. Apple announced his death without giving a specific cause. He died peacefully, according to a statement from family members who said they were present. He was 56.

“Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives,” Apple’s board said in a statement. “The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

Jobs had battled cancer in 2004 and underwent a liver transplant in 2009 after taking a leave of absence for unspecified health problems. He took another leave of absence in January — his third since his health problems began — and resigned in August. Jobs became Apple’s chairman and handed the CEO job over to his hand-picked successor, Tim Cook. Outside Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, three flags — an American flag, a California state flag and an Apple flag — were flying at half-staff late Wednesday.

His Life:

“Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life,” “Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure — these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.”

These quotes are written in Golden Letters, and they were said by none other than Steve Jobs.

His Last Key-Note:

These pictures are of Steve Jobs, after delivering his final keynote at WWDC 2011 back in June 2011. He probably knew this would happen and probably knew that it was his last keynote.
The pictures showcase how attached he is to his wife, Lauren Powell Jobs and his reactions shows that he probably knew that this was his last keynote address.

Just After His Death:

Fans of Steve Jobs continue to turn to social networking sites to pay their respects, and some are even leaving notes on their local Apple store. Others are flocking to pre-order Steve’s biography, written by Walter Isaacson, which has seen orders sore a staggering 41,800% since Apple announced the news yesterday.


Another book written about Steve, I, Steve: Steve Jobs in His Own Words, follows closely behind Isaacson’s title. By George Beahm, the book is priced at $6 and is set to launch on November 8. Before today it sat at the position of 112,808 in Amazon’s chart, but orders for this release have also risen 34,825% to take it up to second place.
Demand for the book is so high, Amazon’s sales algorithms have charted a 41,800% increase in pre-orders for the $17.88 title, which is expected to launch on November 21, around seven weeks from now.
